Are people actually taking Blueblood’s side?  
This has nothing to do with gender relations.  
It’s simply him expecting Rarity to be attentive to him without reciprocating yet again.
 
They are at a classy event and he approached her to spend the evening with him. As Prince and a member of the upper crust he should buy an apple fritter for his guest/companion.  
It’s common courtesy.

He only hated it after eating it so he was oblivious beforehand.
 
Keep grasping at straws.  
He expected a commoner to pay for his food when she probably wouldnt have money with her and when he wanted her company.

But you know, Blueblood never ASKED for a fritter. Rarity wanted one, asked for two, and wanted him to pay.
 
We later find out that Blueblood hates food like that so he clearly wasn’t even paying attention to the situation. He just didn’t want to pay shit because he didn’t want to pay shit.

Expects her to pay for her own food that he could easily afford when she probably doesnt have any money in her dress.

If he was willing to pay for his own food I would take his side, but he wasnt and I dont.
 
And yea, he approached her and essentially asked her to join him so he probably should pay. Particularly when he is rich and one of the hosts of the Gala.

I mean equality works both ways (or at least it should).
 
Although, in context:  
  1. He’s a prince and she’s a commoner.  
  2. He was expecting her to pay for HIS food.  
    So he’s still an arsehole.
