Description
A full mock-up of both sides of one of the cards I made for “Shadow Play,” with graphical assistance provided by Phil Srobeign, who probably isn’t plotting to steal my power.
Probably.
Probably.

Yeah, I know. It also means you can’t put in things with hybrid/guild mana costs even if you could pay for them completely with the colors in the deck. I’ve been very into commander stuff lately, building/built myself a Markov deck. Got about 70% of it. Current build isn’t amazing yet, virtual testing of it shows me I need more creatures, or at least more card draw, which isn’t that easy to come by in Mardu colors.

Yup. Even for nonlegendaries, both sides of a DFC count for its color identity. For example, if your commander isn’t black, you can’t put Westvale Abbey in your deck. Civilized Scholar is blue-red, Loyal Cathar is white-black, and so forth.
Edited
Yes, a DFC with more than one colour over both sides is considered both colours for the purpose of being a commander. It’s the same kind of thing as Archangel Avacyn. Also of note is that you couldn’t have this card in a mono white deck, even though Stygian himself is mono white.

That takes all the fun out of life gain. No, I want a Serra Avatar with a Celestial Mantle while I control True Conviction. That game I ended with 5,143,027 life.
Edited because: Misspelling
If you’d really wanted to be nasty, you’d have combined it with Test of Endurance, or even worse, Felidar Sovereign.
That’s disgusting.
I like it
Sure thing, boss. Have I ever told you about the time I gave Brigid, Hero of Kinsbale a Basilisk Collar?
Maybe if you infinite mana combo. Which is possible in BW, but not something that can’t be dealt with. Plus you can spam block it with enough tokens to kill it if they can’t pay for the ability, unlike things like Teysa or Progenitus
’Specially if token monster decks are in play.
