I know right! That’s exactly how I’d see it too.

Plus, sorta hypocritical of them to say that the eye through the hair looks bad when they’ve got it in their own artwork.

“Mary Sue eyes” Wut? It’s just some extra stylized detail in the eyes. Mary Sue eyes would probably have more colors for the eye (like having the gradient to go from green to pink) and have many wingdings.
