Well that’s actually where I got the idea for him. He’s actually based off the Apep (Eater of Souls) with the red orb being a joke on Ra.

Well history goes that Somnambula and Celestia imprisoned him till he’s freed by the very pony that he has in his coils right now. But yeah he doesn’t like Celestia for obvious reasons.
