I’ll give you tgat, but might be it was based on an existing novel that was shoehorned into the PotC universe.
you will get that, I am not going to pretend it was perfect but I choose to enjoy it and not pick it apart for every flaw. Same approach I take to any media really, it makes it more enjoyable to me that way.

While lacking in big, splashy, inventive, fun, action setpieces, I thought “On Stranger Tides” was still pretty good.
Or when someone dislikes the movie and you address how all the criticisms are uninformative and made up.
