they’ve galloped a few times, but usually use a bastardized trot for running. rarity galloped away when trixie turned her hair green.
@Philweasel
interestingly, the slow trot ponies do actually is more like a gallop, with all four legs off the ground and everything.
This is funny because during pre-history, humans used to catch horses like this: Out-walking them…
Ha ha…
Modern life ruins everything.
Yup. The real reason people used to ride was not because it was faster than walking, it was because it was less tiring and you could carry more with you.
harsh but fair
Could’ve sworn we have, but that also might be me filling in a gap in animation.
I know we’ve seen them go dead sprinting at things which would be a gallop for most animals.
Gallop means all four hooves are off the floor at the same time. We’ve seen them do that in the comics, but never in the show.
Gallops more so just a term for a quadropeds running gait, but Ponies probably have a running/endurance level somewhere between humans and actual horses, leaning more towards horses.
Fictional biology is fun to think about.
Honestly ponies don’t really seem able to gallop, and we’ve only ever seen pegasi managing great feats of endurance.
I accidentally somewhat plagiarized the end of TJ’s comic and he made fun of me for it.
I got called a hack fraud
e: oh wait, here it is:
Edited
The joys of being an endurance predator rather then an ambush or sprinting one.
@doctor clifton
I’ve been calling her “Human Wifey” cause i’m terrible at coming up with names for characters
I hereby dub this char Horse’s Wife.
I think we’re more endurance walkers than we are endurance runners. Not-horse wife’s first mistake was trying to outrun a horse.
