@Asharak
Those sound like they all have a certain rhythm and groove going on but they’re still not quite what I’m thinking of in “Shredding.”
@brogor
I’m familiar with this Primus song. As inspirational as I found it, I still feel like it’s a mix of Bass/Rhythm and other tapping parts. It’s not quite like Buckethead levels of guitar shredding.
Many Primus songs might be a contender but does it really fit the “Shredding” I’m thinking of like Buckethead guitar on a bass? I suppose “Tommy the Cat” (though I don’t like the song as much anymore) fits best for “Bass Shredding”. Rush’s YYZ also works like that.

Blackened, Bass Only
Haven’t you ever heard Launch Octopus’ theme from Megaman X?!
It’s nothing without that Opening Bass!
Bass Shredding? I’m sure it’s possible but I’m not overly familiar with it, the most I can think of is Les Claypool but I don’t think his talented playing (as far as I’ve seen) can be considered “shredding.” No, Shredding’s more like Buckethead’s guitar playing.
And learn to fly again
And learn to live so free
And when we hear the voices sing
The book of love will open up
And let us in
My thoughts exactly.
Only for a moment
Then the moment’s gone
All my dreams
Pass before my eyes a curiosity
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind~
