The assassination bit was just fanon based on her James Bond (Bon) persona, the latter was her literal job description before she retired.
Unfortunately, this sudden realization of the race’s potential could not have happened involving worse characters. Bon Bon is a monster hunting Spook who has likely assassinated a few foreign dictators and regularly locks folks up in Hell, so I have a hard time seeing her be at all phased by this.
