Description

Included story:

Many ponies know that Trixie Lulamoon spent some time at a rock farm after her downfall, biding her time and making a living before she returned to Ponyville with the Alicorn Amulet. However, nopony knows exactly what went down on that rock farm during Trixie’s stay there.
At first, Trixie and Maud Pie were nothing more than acquaintances. Maud was tasked with making sure that the new worker did her fair share, and nothing more. As the two spent more and more time out on the fields together, they started getting to know each other and slowly became very good friends.
It wasn’t until after Trixie left to go challenge Twilight that Maud realized she had accidentally developed feelings for the unicorn. She couldn’t place her hoof on why; there was something about them that just mixed well. It felt…right. While she appeared indifferent on the outside, Maud dearly missed her new friend and often thought of her.
Trixie, on the other hoof, pretty much forgot about her time at the rock farm. This became especially true when she found a new friend in Starlight Glimmer. After they befriended each other, the two unicorns started spending a lot of time together. Some ponies even suspected that they were going out.
However, Starlight eventually became bored with life in Ponyville and left to travel Equestria and find herself. Left alone again, Trixie’s thoughts wandered back to her time spent at the rock farm. She remembered her friend Maud and, after some thought, she realized that the mare clearly had had a thing for her.
With nothing else to do, Trixie went back to the Pie family rock farm to just check up on things and see if anything happened since she left. There, she was met with a monotonously overjoyed Maud. The two caught up for a while, and Maud accidentally let her feelings slip.
In a rush of (seemingly emotionless) passion, Maud kissed Trixie. Not knowing what to do, the unicorn just rolled with it. At that moment, Limestone was nearby supervising the farm’s new worker, Zephyr Breeze. Since she saw everything, Limestone immediately told her parents on Maud and soon the entire family was outside, freaking out over what just happened. In a fit of anger and disappointment, Igneous Rock and Cloudy Quartz accused Maud of going against “Celestia’s word” and told her and Trixie to leave and not come back.
And so, Maud and Trixie went out on their own. Trixie was still mad at Maud for embarrassing her in front of the Pies, but she couldn’t bring herself to leave her. So, she let her tag along as she struggled to make a meager earning off of her magic shows. Throughout all the hardships, however, Trixie grew to enjoy Maud’s company. From being stuck with her on the road, she realized that there was a personality somewhere under that apathetic exterior. After a while, Trixie even fell in love with Maud. So in love, in fact, that she decided to marry her.
Trixie and Maud discussed the subject of marriage and decided to save up enough money to go to a justice of the peace. The marriage was very simple; there was no ceremony, no guests, no wedding dresses, not even refreshments. But Maud said her vows with a smile on her face and the two were happy to be together.
Not long after getting married, Maud and Trixie managed to find stable jobs and bought a small house together. They decided then was a good time to start trying for a child. So, Trixie called Starlight Glimmer over to help. Since Trixie couldn’t stand the idea of being pregnant (she didn’t want to ruin her “great and powerful figure”), Maud volunteered to carry the foal. Thanks to Starlight’s magic and the power of love, the conception was a success.
A few months into Maud’s pregnancy, she got a surprise visit from none other than Pinkie Pie. Overjoyed to have finally found her sister after all this time, Pinkie apologized on behalf of her family (even though she personally had nothing to do with what happened) and reported that it was safe for Maud and Trixie to come back home.
And so the married couple sold their little house and returned to the rock farm. Maud was welcomed back with open hooves, while Trixie was welcomed with disgruntled tolerance. While the Pies would never agree with or like Maud’s so-called “lifestyle”, they were glad to have her home. They couldn’t do anything about Trixie without hurting Maud, so they just begrudgingly allowed her to stay. Trixie and Maud built their own little house on the family property and settled into their new home.
Not long after moving back to the farm, Maud and Trixie’s daughter, Moonstone was born. They were happy to have her, and, just by existing, she became an optimal part of the Pies’ process of learning to tolerate “alternative lifestyles”. Needless to say, Moonstone was an important part of the family.
Growing up, Moonstone proved to be a prodigy of magic, despite coming from a family of rock-farming earth ponies. She even managed to get the attention of Princess Luna and become her protégé. Even if she was destined for greater things, she always made time for her family.
Overall, Maud, Trixie, and Moonstone have been living a pretty good life together. They still have to face criticism from certain other ponies (such as the Pie family…) but they don’t let it faze them anymore. The struggles and heartbreak of the past are over, and now they just live and let live.
