sometimes i want to see the commenters likes to cite their bias but ever since someone else pointed out that i have a bias too by checking up on my likes (commented on an image that boobs are too big, user commented i have several faves that have big boobs too (mostly for the character, not the boobs), it feels creepy (felt so violated for some reason).

I have the same standards for both the comic artists & fanartists. Sometimes I don’t mind them going off-model, (heck, the show does it alot to do those hilarious & cute facial expressions) I even actually like Fosgitt’s art, even though he’s arguably the most “off-model” artist. (To quote John K. of “Ren & Stimpy” fame, “Staying on-model is for commies.”) I like seeing variety in the art of the comic. Even the more “on model” artists like Andy Price have their own version & style, and exaggerate expressions, and things, (the show’s animators do this sometimes too) which is nice to see IMO.

basically I’m citing ‘unpleasable fanbase’ when it comes to IDW’s artists (either they “follow” the designs too closely that they’re called plagiarists or they do their own style and people say “not ponies”).

this is tony fleecs, not jay fosgitt. fosgitt is the bobble head ponies artist. at least fosgitt knows how to draw chins though unlike brenda hickey

most of the ‘can’t draw ponies” are used on fosgitt’s style which is weird because of all the original styles used by artists found on this site.

I’m more criticizing people who think tracing is bad, but ripping off a picture is a-ok, if the lines aren’t exactly right.
 
frankly I have a deep respect for tony fleecs’ ability to draw fantastic landscapes.

so if IDW doesn’t follow canon designs, they’re not “my” ponies.  
if they follow canon designs, they’re lazy?

No one ever traces just one face; surely the combined resources of the brony fandom can find his other traces, right?

Looking close at that screencap, it doesn’t look traced. None of the lines are an exact match.
 
Unless you can find a frame that is a perfect match for his line art, your accusation is false.

Seems like he’s using the Deviantart Douchebag Way: trace and then flip the image so that way it will be totally different and argh why.
