Glad I could help.
amen
Yeah, actually. Odd.
You’re a communist and I’m accusatory! XD
Feel better with that out of the way?
@Mr grump
Funny. People who lived under communism said the same thing about communism.
@Mr grump
From personal experience, most ex-soviet citizens still regret USSR’s passing, and would trade what came after for a communist regime in a heartbeat. Even those who had their family members “disappeared” or who barely earned a living wage. See the rationalization above.
inb4 somepony accuses me of being communist even though I fucking hate communism
@Scrounge
Edited because: Now with more tears
Savage.
Drawing parallels and making analogical statements may be a little harder to do than reciting the same crap some other person said but by no means would I ever deem it as hard
Now figuring out why someone would give a mouse booty and make mundane pictures like this is a real challenge
It’s hard to work ponies into politics in a way that makes sense besides the two really shouldn’t mix.
@MrOwen
I was joking. :p
Well, we’re talking about politics, and everyone is trying to be polite and no one started throwing obscenities around yet. So, even if not in discussed topic, the spirit of My Little Pony is still very much present.

Or I mean you could havejust talked about pony But that’s just my 2 cents
Not sure but I find the lack of pony in them disturbing. I should have posted pony reaction pics to offset this problem.
Serious buisness, dude.

PONY POLITICS
Oh now I get ya my bad I retract my previous statement then, sorry for the misunderstanding.
Please, backtrack the conversation for a moment. You said.
This has nothing to do with your beliefs if we should switch to communism or not (we kind of do).
I say the reason that people compare Starlight’s cult to communsim is ignorance, because of the very fact, that it is not even similar to communist system (or socialist, for that matter). I do believe that people who make that sort of comparison are ignorant of what communism is and how it works.
Example: the main principle of communism is “from each according to their ability, to each according to their needs”; the main principle of socialism is “from each according to their ability, to each according to their work”.
Starlight’s version was “from each according to average ability, to each according to average needs”. So, it is kind of obvious that comparing her regime to communism can be seen as ignorance.

Actually no I was talking about socialism in the form of healthcare and that’s really it and yes socialist healthcare would be better than what we have now. We have health insurance a thing that some people are turned down for or the insurance simply says they won’t cover the treatment you need whereas universal healthcare is something everyone has you can’t be turned down and if you need treatment you get it, our health insurance costs around $500 for single person coverage and over $1,000 for family coverage and they still don’t always help you, universal healthcare in Britain has a 11% tax that equals only $3,000 for a year for families, so American health insurance costs $12,000 a year and universal costs $3,000 a year and you are fully covered and are guaranteed treatment.
A fully national health insurance system, in which all Americans are covered in the same massive group and for-profit insurers and healthcare providers can’t pick and choose who to cover and how much to charge them. This system would effectively extend the current Medicare and Medicaid system to the whole population, and, in so doing, make it even more efficient.
People like to say that America currently has “the finest healthcare system in the world” and then cite horror stories about sick people dying in streets because they have to wait so long to get the (terrible) healthcare services available to them under “socialist” healthcare.
This horror story, naturally, is presented as the polar opposite of our current system, In fact, in many ways, it’s similar. Today, in America, many people without health insurance spend their lives waiting until they get so sick that they can go wait in emergency rooms. And then our often wildly profitable hospitals pay for their care by, effectively, sending their bills to everyone else.
But please do go on and tell me that numbers lie and I’m the one who’s ignorant.
you know who said just this?
gorbachev
you know how this ended?
1991
alcohol abuse and death
rising infant deaths
sell out of russian resources to the west
homelessness
the notion of “combining both” is based on lacked education on what socialism is and the absurd idea of “state doing things is socialism”. i’m sorry, but that’s naive, and you’d agree if you read up on basic theory literature more.
socialism: “to each according to contribution”
communism: “to each according to need”
in the early soviet union engineers and workers were getting about the same level of pay as management/bureaucracy
people who invested their time into studying and becoming engineers and becoming more efficient in work did get a higher pay still. there’s even a speech by stalin available that is adressing the fluctuation of work forces and explains just this.
which is funny btw considering that western propaganda is claiming workers didn’t have the freedom to choose their work place. this is ridiculous nonsense that might’ve applied during the war time but was never a general rule of how things worked.
going a bit off topic:
later on, quotemining lenin and stalin on the topic, who argued against “equaling pay” in a very specific context, plant managers got higher pay (and more individual “freedom” in organizing the plant, effectively undermining planned economy) which on the long run in the 90s lead to the managers simply claiming the factories. yet even up till the end of the soviet union the level of income never increased as insanely as it did in capitalist countries.
If by modern democracies you mean Putins russia then yes
I’ll cherish it always. :3
Hopefully it will influence you in the future
So the fact I don’t think we should completely switch to communism despite me saying if the two were mixed in certain aspects things would be better makes me ignorant? Kay I’ll keep that in mind.
