We were talking about ants and how changelings might compare to them, so of course I was referring to asexual reproduction and sexual reproduction. Why would I be talking about a completely social construct when referring to biology? Pointless. Ants don’t have sexualities or genders, they have sexes and sexual reproduction. Context.
 
This wasn’t about the sexualities of the changelings, it was about someone’s confusion on the asexuality of insects or not. You know, true asexuality. Biology.

There’s plenty of sexually active male and female changelings in fanfics and fanart though, so even if the Changeling shown is a boy in canon, he’ll be whatever gender people want him to be for their ship

Asexual? No, they are usually all sterile female workers. Asexual implies they reproduce, well, asexually.

They could be, then again we don’t know how much changelings actually take after insects. The real argument for or against gender would probably be the fact that they’re shapeshifters, and presumably can shift into either gender.
 
Of course, the show is probably going to have gendered changelings just for ease of address, relatability and the like.
