I dunno, I kindasorta like the idea of mix-n’-match uniform elements, although I think it would work better if the elements were from the uniforms of multiple nations rather than just different branches of the same nation. Ponies in completely accurate real world military uniforms has always seemed a little… unsettling to me, like it might be unintentionally disrespectful or something unless it was for a specific person/persons for a specific reason.

There’s no rank insignia on his uniform. That’s a stripe indicating four years of service.
He’s also wearing the enlisted dress blue coat instead of the Officer’s version.
