Presumably, so people can find pictures relating to this canon couple… Derpibooru has tags based on practicality. This is why a scene featuring clearly bisexual characters can still have “lesbian”, “straight”, and “gay” on them… There are relationship tags for every other pairing; why not the canon ones? That being said, I don’t think that the tag would apply to an image of the canon offspring of said canon couple.
Also, I’m not sure that you are supposed to be able to curse on a “safe” image.
