well to be fair, for most americans, just saying oh idk, “10 nakajimas as ten o’clock high” really didn’t give combat personnel any idea as to what the aircraft were. were they fighters? Bombers? how do they perform?” so to quickly identify flying characteristics of unknown targets, it was decided to give fighters western boy’s names and bombers girl’s name.
Rule #9001: If you can’t, for the life of you, make up a good-sounding name for your character, just use a given name and/or a reporting name of some military vehicle. It’ll be awesome!
Kojima definitely can’t make up good names. Or good anything, in general.
